Suspension lifts and braking upgrades. The two go together but many folks don't have a clue that they do. Virtually everyone that lifts a vehicle does so for the sake of fitting those taller and wider tires in the wheel wells. When you upgrade your tire size, you better be budgeting some $$ to upgrade your braking system too. Those bigger tires will overdrive your factory brakes. If you think otherwise, you are simply kidding yourself. Swaybars, shocks, control arms, springs, and more make up a good suspension system and keeping them all tight and properly maintained will go a long way towards a quiet (no clunking) and responsive ride on both the street and the trail.
