The original Jeep movie footage displayed here was taken either by myself or a friend that was with me on the trail. I will attempt to run a few segments through the encoder every now and then and post the results here. I hope you enjoy them. Some of the videos are of friends who are driving buggies and other heavily modified vehicles. As the opportunities present themselves to get more of this type of video, I'll edit it and put it up here for all to enjoy.

S & M - Movie clip length ~4.5 min. 01/01/2007
This footage was taken on the first
waterfall of S&M. One of the guys got there ahead of me and took out a
drive shaft (sorry, no video of him). Everyone was running different
equipment on their rigs (kind of a shake down run)....all the rigs had different
tires, one a new torque converter, a couple had suspension changes, etc. 3
of the 5 vehicles limped back to camp as a result of the first waterfall.
Die Hard #2 - Movie clip length ~1 hr. 11/27/2006
This footage was taken on the Die Hard trail
at Table Mesa. Some friends from the Quartzsite area came to visit.
They wanted a little rock crawling action and so we did a post Thanksgiving 2006
trail run with them. Several rock buggies work the obstacles in this
video.
Pyeatt Draw Trail - Movie clip length ~1 hr. 10/19/2006
This footage was taken on the Pyeatt
Draw trail. This was an invitational run, hosted by BFGoodrich. Many
thanks to TC for inviting Donna and myself. It was a little wet but that
didn't stop us all from having a great day in the high rim country near Payson,
Arizona.
Die Hard - Movie clip length 50 min. 05/28/2006
This footage was taken on Die Hard, a
5.0 trail located in central Arizona. I was the "short" Jeep on the
trail.....two vehicles were 40" rock buggies. It was quite the run and I
was lucky to get some good footage of some of the trail.
5AJUMR Picture Show - Movie clip length 15 min. 12/26/2005
These are photos (and some good
background tunes) from the 5th Annual JeepsUnlimited Moab Run from our trip to
Moab, spring of 2005.
The Cracks - Movie clip length ~3 min. 05/28/2005
This footage taken at "The Cracks" near
Heber, Az. The area is known locally as "Mini Moab" as some of the rock
structures and surrounding area looks very much like that found at Moab. A
few of us found a nice crack to crawl over. A few still digitals are
included at the end of the video. Thanks goes to JimF for providing me
with footage of my going over the obstacle.
Upper Terminator Christmas 2004 - Movie clip length ~40 min. 01/07/2005
This footage taken by my wife while we
were sharing a trail with some of our friends from out of state visitors and
also a few of the local Jeepers. I've not been on Upper Terminator when it
has had this much water on it. We had some rains the previous week and
with the bedrock on the trail, much of the water does not drain.
Predator Christmas 2004 - Movie clip length ~45 min.
01/07/2005
This footage taken by my wife while we
were sharing a trail with some of our friends from out of state visitors and
also a few of the local Jeepers. Predator is always a fun trail and this
time, one of the guys managed to roll on the first obstacle while Robert managed
to rip a sidewall further down the trail. Predator is a tight trail where
others have been known to get a fair amount of body damage. Aside from the
rollover (hey, there wasn't much body to damage), we all made it out in pretty
good shape.
Moab 2004- Movie clip length ~57 min. 12/22/2004
This footage was shot by Larry, a great
we met up with during 4AJUMR. He sent me a tape and I cleaned it up a bit.
Now that I have some more storage space on the server, I am able to make it
available for my friends. The video covers a number of trails that we ran
at 4AJUMR in Moab.
Tire Smoking w/ ToysByTroy - Movie clip length ~1:45 min. 05/26/2004
I did some video editing for Troy a few
weeks back (that will teach him!) and thought you all might enjoy this clip.
This was taken by someone from Canada (sorry, don't know the name) and they
caught Troy smoking his tires on the way up one hell of a ledge. If the
tires don't stick on the slickrock, just warm them up a bit until they do! Rumor has
it that he and Grady were the only two vehicles out of the group to make that
ledge. This was taken at Moab during the 2004 Easter Jeep Safari.
Troy flops his TJ - Movie clip length ~1:35 min. 05/26/2004
I did some video editing for Troy a few
weeks back (that will teach him!) and thought you all might enjoy this clip.
This was taken by someone from Canada (sorry, don't know the name) and they
caught Troy as he rolled his TJ at the 2004 Easter Jeep Safari.
Fox Sports Net - Movie clip length ~3 min. 05/03/2004
This teaser clip aired nationally last
week on Fox Sports after the Diamond Backs baseball game. A 30 minute show
is to follow in July. Yeah, I was on the run....you'll see my cow bell in
one of the close-up shots with my Anti-Rock hogging center stage! (I'm
thinking that the tail gunner just doesn't get much video footage....it's a
thankless job and somebody had to do it!)
Lower Terminator - Movie clip length ~48 min. Footage by Stu Olson
05/03/2004
While attending
4AJUMR, I received a phone call from Troy (owner
of Toys by Troy). He told
me that he had set up a wheelin' trip for the following week and I had better
get my butt home from Moab in time to make the run. The hosts of the "run"
were, Jim and Darla Solomon of Outdoors
Arizona, a local couple and it was their first time on a rock crawling
trail and to top it off, Fox Sports Network taped us for a show. Troy
decided on Lower Terminator for the trail. The Fox Sports Net crew took
about 3~4 hours of video which will be trimmed down to a 30 minute show segment
that is to air some time in July. This footage was taken by my wife during
our run. We all had a great time. With luck, there will be more of
these filming episodes.
White Tanks - Movie clip length ~13 min. Footage by Stu Olson
4/1/2004
Some friends and I decided it was time
to go play on one of the local trails in the White Tank Mountains, located just
west of Phoenix . Mike needed to test out his brand new Atlas II as our
Moab trip (4AJUMR) was coming up shortly and he needed to do at least one
shakedown run on it. There is nothing that hardcore in this short movie.
Donna took the video for me and she mainly got us going up two of the waterfalls
that are on the trail.
Predator - Movie clip length ~24 min. Footage
by Stu Olson 1/4/2004
Some friends and I ran the trail the day
after New Years, 2004. A great time was had by all and I got more
opportunities to soften up the springs and flex the lift out some more.
Ruler - Movie clip length ~37 min. Footage
by Stu Olson 12/25/2003
This is footage recently taken when the
Rock Rats ran Ruler. They wanted some video of the trail and rigs so I
grabbed my camcorder and captured the fun on tape.
Judgement Day & Upper Terminator- Movie clip length ~40 min. Footage by Stu Olson
12/22/2003
Judegement Day and Upper Terminator
are two trails that are located north of Phoenix in the Table Mesa area.
The weather was great, the Jeepers were all cool, and together it made for an
awesome day of fun.
Cliff Hanger Trail - Movie clip length 2:09 min. Footage by Stu
Olson 05/19/2003
This was shot during the 3rd Annual
JeepsUnlimited Moab Run.
We were running Cliff Hanger, an extremely scenic and challenging trail
(especially for the folks who run open diffs).
Hell's Gate - Movie clip length 2:12 min. Footage by Stu Olson
05/05/2003
This was shot during the 3rd Annual
JeepsUnlimited Moab Run. I
am driving up Hell's Gate...and no, I did not roll, just in case you were
wondering.
Playing in the White Tanks - Movie clip length 2:54 min. Footage by
Stu Olson 03/09/2003
This was shot during a short shakedown
run for a friend.
Ruler - Movie clip length 18:50 min. Footage by Stu Olson
03/08/2003
Scott spots Teresa through the trail.
Axle Alley - Movie clip length 36:41 min. Footage by Stu Olson
12/11/2002
This is a handful of us on a Sunday
run on a major winching trail.
Golden Crack, Moab Utah ~ Movie clip length 4:00 min. Footage
by Stu Olson 7/15/2002
This is of a couple of us going over the
Golden Crack on the Golden Spike Trail in Moab during the 2AJUMR.
Tracy's Rollover ~ 20 sec. 6/11/2002
She was exiting Hell's Gate, on the
Hell's Revenge trail, when her TJ went over. I was not there at the time
as I was leading another run on another trail. I talked to Tracy shortly
after she got back to town, driving her TJ. You can see some still pics of
it here. Luckily, she was only
shaken up and had a slight bump. Another friend drove her rig up and out
of the Hell's Gate after they got it upright and checked out.
BF Goodrich AT Sidewall Blowout Movie clip length ~ 8 secs. Footage by Stu
Olson. 11/25/2001
Best viewed with high
bandwidth connection (DSL, T-1, etc.)
Note: This was taken the day after Thanksgiving, 2001 while wheelin' on
Lower Terminator. My buddy, Mike W., (in the movie) ultimately lost 3 BFG
ATs on that one trail. Needless to say, he is now the proud owner of some
Goodyear MT/Rs.
Stu's TJ going through the Z-turn on Moab Rim Trail, Oct. 2001. Movie clip length ~
2:06 min. Footage by Stu Olson. 11/06/2001
As I approach the top ledge, making a gradual left turn, watch the
driver's front tire. The tire is off the ground and is carried for about
10~15 ft. Pretty cool when you think that there was no speed
involved. That should give you a good idea of just how steep and
off-camber this obstacle is. You do not see it in the camera because
everything is being seen at the same angle. Also, did you notice how
my left front tire would lift (at the beginning of the video)? My right
rear tire was in a pretty good sized hole. If you don't do this obstacle
correctly, you will roll your Jeep, right in that hole, over onto the passenger
side. When you do, it will look like this
poor guy. This was taken earlier in the year. Same obstacle,
same hole, going the same direction. By the way, that big rock that he
rolled into is what my wife refers to as "Ouch Rock". At one
time, it had "OUCH" scratched into the top of it...it still might,
don't know for sure.
Stu's TJ going up the slickrock dome on Moab Rim Trail, Oct. 2001. Movie clip length ~
1 min. Footage by Stu
Olson. 10/14/2001
The slow motion section (first part) of the video is the result of
my being about 6" off of the correct line. As you can see, it is a
bit unforgiving when you midjudge. The last portion of the video is my
second attempt, being a bit further to the left this time. As you can see,
Lady walks right up the dome with no problem. A couple of inches DOES make
a big difference (sometimes).
Stu riding Scott's TJ bumper, going up the Z-Turn on Moab Rim Trail, Oct. 2001. Movie clip length ~
40 secs. Footage by Stu Olson. 10/14/2001
The actions seen in this video clip were done by trained stunt
professionals. Do not attempt this at home with your own Jeep!
Stu climbing a rock ledge on Cliff Hanger, Oct. 2001. Movie clip length ~
1:25 min. Footage by Stu Olson. 10/14/2001
Stu climbing THE rock ledge on Cliff Hanger, the ledge that this trail is so noted for, Oct. 2001. Movie clip length ~ 1:11 min. Footage by Stu Olson. 10/14/2001
